What is IV Hydration?

IV hydration delivers many important vitamins and nutrients your body needs to function properly and look AND feel your best.

Intravenous hydration therapy delivers fluids, nutrients, and/or medication directly into the bloodstream. It helps treat symptoms such as nausea, pain, dehydration, workout exhaustion, jet lag, migraines, etc. IV nutrition also boosts vitamin and mineral levels in the body, supporting overall wellness.

Are you looking for a quick pick-me-up? Are you wishing for hangover relief?

Any number of maladies can be treated by the right blend of nutrients, including:

  • Jet lag

  • Migraines

  • Recovering from tough workouts

  • Managing stress

  • Simply looking to boost your wellness quotient

Why IV Hydration?

Many people use oral supplements and medication when they are not feeling well or their bodies are lacking something. Unfortunately, this is not the most effective way to give your body what it needs. Vitamins or medications taken orally must first pass through the digestive system and become metabolized before reaching your circulation. Age, activity level, illness, malabsorption issues, stress, and previous gastrointestinal surgery can also influence how well your body can absorb oral nutrients.

The solution

IV hydration is the fastest way to rehydrate your body by introducing fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream. IV therapy solutions can contain extra ingredients and medications to relieve nausea and replenish vitamins and minerals your body is lacking. This means you no longer have to wait for supplements or oral hydration to “kick in,” and IV therapy can take effect in minutes.

We can become dehydrated more easily than you think. Though commonly associated with hangovers and illness, dehydration has many other causes. If you’re an athlete or very active, you can chalk some of your muscle cramps up to dehydration. Busy people tend to forget to drink the necessary amount of water daily, leaving them tired, dehydrated, and more susceptible to illness. People recovering from colds, flu, and food poisoning all benefit from fast, safe hydration therapy.

The bottom line is that IV therapy solutions are absorbed almost completely by the body, ensuring maximum efficacy of any and all ingredients included in your treatment. If you want to learn more, contact us; we will happily answer your questions!

 FAQs

IV hydration therapy is getting increasing attention, but many people still aren’t clear on the particulars. We’ve compiled some of the most commonly asked questions concerning IV hydration therapy. If you don’t see your question answered here, a clinical team member would happily address it. We’re here to ensure you feel well, and that starts with ensuring IV therapy is right for you!

  • Yes! Although vitamin-powered IV therapy has become increasingly popular over the past few years, it has been practiced safely for decades nationwide. The IV fluids we use are exactly the same as those you would receive in a hospital or clinic, and we follow the same standards of cleanliness observed in the hospital setting. Our IV hydration services are only administered by registered nurses with years of experience and exceptionally skilled at starting an IV.

  • One of our highly skilled registered nurses will place an IV, which feels similar to having blood drawn. Normal saline, a mix of electrolytes, sodium chloride, and water used to treat dehydration, is attached to the IV for direct infusion into the bloodstream. This bypasses the normal process that oral fluids must undergo before being absorbed into the bloodstream, leading to rapid absorption and improvement in how you feel. We recommend IV fluids with vitamins, improving your overall health and wellness by combating nausea and fatigue from a recent illness or speeding up recovery from a strenuous athletic performance.

  • IV therapy is different for everyone. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for someone to finish their treatment. Plan on taking about an hour out of your day for treatment. It is necessary to remain relatively stationary during this time, but you can still carry on a conversation, watch TV, scroll through your phone, etc.

  • We know some people have a phobia of needles, and some have a lower pain tolerance. Remember that everyone on our medical team is prepared to address your concerns. It is also helpful to remember that experienced professionals do their best to make insertion as fast and painless as possible. Most report feeling no more than a pinch!

  • We encourage you to discuss IV hydration with your healthcare provider if you have concerns. The service is completely elective, and participation is entirely up to you. At Good Hydrations, a physician is always on call to approve IV treatments and make recommendations based on the

information you provide when seeking treatment. You must provide accurate and complete information upon intake so that we can make appropriate recommendations tailored to your needs.

  • We do not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We accept payment through ApplePay, Venmo, and all major credit cards. We are happy to provide a super bill upon request.

  • Sure! Some clients use IV therapy as part of a regular wellness routine or in preparation for a big event. Some packages are ideal for boosting your immune system during cold and flu season. Athletes or those who train heavily use IV therapy to enhance performance and recovery—others just like looking and feeling hydrated and well-rested before an important event. IV hydration may reduce your chances of a hangover, but there are no guarantees.

  • Most people are eligible, but there are some exceptions. The on-call medical provider can treat minors or those over 65 at their discretion. Pregnant or breastfeeding women can still receive treatment, but some vitamins and medications might be off-limits. Please contact us to discuss your eligibility to receive IV hydration.

  • One advantage of IV therapy is that it is easily tailored to your needs. Some get IV therapy more regularly since they get better results from intravenous vitamins. Others only occasionally experience hangovers, jet lag, or migraines. Ultimately, it depends on your needs and lifestyle. Our staff has no problem helping you decide what treatments, when, and how often you should receive them.
